Oulun Seta has been following the developments of the current crisis. In compliance with the current regulations and recommendations by the state, City of Oulu, SOSTE, and the national Seta, all our face-to-face support groups and events are cancelled at least until the end of May.
Annual Spring Meeting
In accordance with our rules, Oulun Seta had scheduled the annual spring general meeting to the end of March. However, due to the current circumstances the spring meeting has been postponed, since our rules do not allow for long-distance meetings.
Oulun Seta board will re-evaluate the situation concerning the spring meeting in May and will set a new date for the meeting then. In case the state or other guidelines, regulations and recommendations change, and the current limitations continue beyond May 13th, Oulun Seta will of course comply and reschedule the spring meeting again. As usual, the invitations to the meeting will be sent to our members via email/mail, as well as published on our website and calendar.
Our Support Services
Some of our already scheduled peer support groups will be held as distance groups online using Zoom. You can participate in the meetings via the mobile and desktop applications or via your browser, and participation does not require creating a Zoom account. Online meetings adhere to the same rules and safe space guidelines as our usual support groups. We aim to make distance support groups as confidential and easy to participate in as possible. Please follow our notices regarding online groups, upcoming times will be added to our calendar as soon as they are confirmed. The possibility of face-to-face group meetings will be re-evaluated in the beginning of June.
In the absence of group meetings, you can get one-on-one peer support from our trained volunteers. Like our groups, our support services are confidential and follow the same non-discrimination and safe space guidelines. Support service volunteers offer peer support primarily via email, as well as via Zoom, by phone and other methods agreed upon by the supporter and the client as necessary. We will also be adding support chat options via Tukinet to our services as soon as possible. Support is always available at least in Finnish and English.
Support requests and enquiries can be sent to tukihenkilot [at] oulunseta.fi
